I am running Windows 8.1 on my Lenovo ThinkPad (laptop) computer, and I am unable to open my windows store apps which I've installed on my Start page and added to my Taskbar. I have run the troubleshooters for Apps, for Maintenance, for Security, for my System and even for my (Internet Explorer 11) browser, all of which indicate that there is no problem. I've spent hours trying to fix this, and I've followed up on the various fixes offered by the sites access from my Search Engine. Some of them instruct me to begin at points (listed on my START Key) that do not exist and none of them have worked. I even considered uninstalling and reinstalling all of these Apps. That is definitely NOT a good idea. I uninstalled one non-essential App... my Calendar, and when I tried to reinstall it, I was advised that Apps cannot be installed on my computer, because I have no applicable computer/device linked to my account. That can't be true, because all these Apps are already installed. Nonetheless, I accessed my account information, checked the settings & the details & reviewed the 'PC & Devices listed there, under My Account. This computer is the only PC described, and to make sure Microsoft could verify that, I confirmed that the 'find my computer and/or device' key is turned on. However, I was advised that my computer could not be located.
Apparently, the (Microsoft) account information in my computer, doesn't concur with Microsoft's records, so I've even tried to add this computer to my Microsoft account as an added "trusted computer' per the instructions on Microsoft's site... but I am unable to access the page or open the appropriate fields to complete that procedure as well.
I'm sorry this has been so wordy, but these problems seem to be related, or if not related, it does seem that the fixes for the one may be contained within the other. Please, can you help. Thank you.
