I have new music that I've downloaded online that are not showing up in Windows Media Player. I have version 12.0.7601.18150 on a laptop that uses Windows 7 Home Premium with a 64-bit operating system. WMP has been working fine until now. Two days ago, I downloaded several new albums and added them to the My Music folder. They appeared in WMP just fine and I was even able to sync the files to my phone. Then I checked WMP yesterday and all the new music that was there before are now gone even though they're still in the My Music folder. The files that are not showing up in WMP are all in mp3 format, which as far as I know is supported. Oddly enough, if I click on a file from the My Music folder, then it will open and play in WMP. So, the only issue is that my library is incomplete. I've downloaded music online before and had no problems. I was thinking that this may be due to a recent Windows update on my laptop, but I couldn't be sure.
It's really annoying, but not an issue of major concern. I'd still really appreciate some advice on what to do though.
