Hi, I'm not sure this is the right place to ask this. I've never used these forums before, and I am also not very tech savvy. I know basic computer skills and can work my way through most PC issues myself.
However, I am having a problem with Windows Audio. It will not turn on, and after finding another example of this happening for someone on these forums a few years ago I went through the instructions that were posted and resolved the issue for the other person.
My issue however still persists. My audio will not work, the sound icon displays a little red x and the trouble shooter is not finding anything wrong. When I try to turn the audio on manually through the services I am given this message:
error 0x800706cc: The endpoint is a duplicate.
This problem began last night after I shut my laptop off using the power button because the laptop had been showing the "shutting down" screen for half an hour. These problems have never happened before, can anyone help me out?
