I changed from Windows XP to Widows 7.The other functions are ok but the fligt simulator X and FS2000 now open in a small widow and I cannot expand it to full screen. Can you suggest how can it be solved? I have set recommended resolution 1680x1050. It worked fine with XP.

I created up a Source Initiated Subscription in my enviroment, and it is doing pretty well but I'm wondering how the performance would change if there were hundreds or thousands of events forworded to one collector in a second.
What is the limit of events per second, or what is the limiting factor? the Hardware?

I have not found good examples, how to use xperf in buffering mode (or something like that).
I would want to record my last events to memory (circular buffer) continously. And sometimes (when problems occurs) i want to take "snapsot" from memory to etl-file. Then it is possible to see what has happened before problem was occured.
By the way are there exist some another forums to ask that kind of question ? This forum seem to be almost dead sometimes. Difficult to got answers.
Hi I have a Pc with is used for a BMS system in a Shopping center This Pc has not been connected to the internet in 8 years it is runing Microsoft Windowns XP Pro Service pack 2 version 2002
I am trying to use install a USB Donngle to be able to acess the internet but the error im getting is KB945436 Setup Error
Set up cannot update your windows XP files because the language installed on your system is different from the update language.
Is there a update I can use or has been set this way for a reason ? I dont want to crash the BMS system running in the back ground.

I am transferring a large amount of data and need to leave the PC on overnight. I believe I have configured Windows so that automatic restarts for updates are disabled, yet the PC still sometimes shuts down when left on for long periods.
Any advice on how to prevent automatic shutdowns is hugely appreciated.

In the Windows Performance Recorder I have selected "Network I/O activity" under "Resource Analysis". When I begin recording the Status message reads: "Recording multiple profiles in Memory...".
When I click "Save", I get a dialog that prompts me to save a General Trace. If I save this trace and open it in Windows Performance Analyzer I don't see anything regarding Network I/O.
How do I view information gathered with Network I/O activity?

I'm running an Acer Aspire V w/ Windows 8.1
When I (1) select an item on my desktop and then (2) press "Delete", the item is instantly deleted without a YES / CANCEL verification box asking if I really want to delete the item.
Sucks because sometimes I didn't mean to delete something, but just hit the "Del" button by accident.
This problem (or weird setting) is not present when I have a window open, ONLY when on the desktop.
For example: If I open my videos folder and (1) select an item in that folder and then (2) press"Delete", a verification box pops up and I click Yes or NO.
My graphics properties look in order and I currently do not have any desktop managing app of the sort installed. I tried installing "Fences 2.0" but I couldn't even select items on the desktop, almost as if they were locked, so I uninstalled it.
Any insights are helpful! I haven't found a practical solution.

I just purchase a Dell XPS 13 I5 processor win 8.1. I have a executable in task manager DfSSvc.exe (Dell.DFS.Agent.WinService) that appears to show a very high memory allocation in Task Manager 89,388K.
This was the response from MS back in 2003:
The Distributed File System service (Dfssvc.exe) may take too much memory and use too much of the system resources on a Microsoft Windows Server 2003-base This problem may occur if a
binary large object (BLOB) is corrupted.
Note The Distributed File System (DFS) configuration data for a domain DFS is stored as binary large object (BLOB) data in the Active Directory directory service.d domain controller. When this
problem occurs, the domain controller may become unresponsive.
Can someone explain what this is used for?
Is this memory to high for this object?
Is there a fix to reduce this obj?
Can I stop this task?

I am having problems installing Intel HAXM (for Android emulation). I get this error immediately:
"This computer does not support Intel Virtualization Technology (VT-x) ..."
Running the processor identification utility, I get:
Intel Virtualization Technology: No
Intel VT-x with Extended Page Tables: No
Both of these should be supported on my system as shown on Intel web page.
I've enabled virtualization in the BIOS, installed/reinstalled new drivers, but nothing seems to work. Anyone know if this is just a "Windows 8 not supported" issue or if there's something I can do?

I have a Lenovo IdeaPad laptop N580 with Windows 8.1 64-bit.
Starting about 4 days ago, my laptop randomly while I'm playing video (on youtube) freezes and plays a loud buzzing sound. The problem is only be fixed by me force-shutting down the laptop. Originally, when this problem started, I received an error upon startup that said "unable to start the dolby audio driver. Please restart the computer or reinstall the driver if the problem persists." I tried updating and reinstalling the driver, but the problem wasn't fixed. I also tried troubleshooting the audio recording and audio playback. The error message stopped showing up during startup, but the problem still persisted. I also checked for any Windows updates, and there were none. I also tried looking at the Event Logs, but weirdly at the last time it happened there was no event recorded 10 minutes before or after it happened. The most recent "warnings" that appear on the log are source: DNS Client Events, event id: 1014, general: Name resolution for the name lenovoblogs.com timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded.
Another warning: source: Wininit, event id: 11, general: Custom dynamic link libraries are being loaded for every application. The system administrator should review the list of libraries to ensure they are related to trusted applications. Please visit http://support.microsoft.com/kb/197571 for more information.

I have no idea what any of these mean or how to fix them or if they are the cause of my problem.
I then tried running a memory diagnostics and a virus scan (no viruses came up). I also tried re-installing the drivers for Windows 8.1, but when I re-installed the video drivers, it said I already had the most updated drivers. By googling it seemed like what I needed to do was re-install the chipset drivers, but there was no link for me to re-install the Windows 8.1 chipset driver because it says it should have been downloaded when 8.1 was installed...
I have no idea what to do next. Sometimes the problem happens right when I play a video, and sometimes it happens only an hour after a video has played. Please help me. I have a skype interview on Wednesday, and I can't have this problem messing up my interview.
